One of the things I am being asked about most often is a Leapster or Leapster2, and a few questions about where to find a Leapfrog Tag reader. So, I thought I would do my best to include it in the Holiday Gift Guide this year. As far as personal reviews go, we have a Leapster and a Leapster2 and the boys love them both. They are quite similar. The Leapster2 is just basically an updated version of the Leapster. It’s more streamlined, fits their hands better, and can be connected to the computer for additional games and activites. The screen also lights up more clearly and is easier to see. Otherwise, they are very much alike. I have never used a Tag system, so I can’t provide info on it.
There are lots of Leapfrog Learning promotions going around right now. I have been amazed at how many have been given out for review and giveaways! If you haven’t found a Leapfrog toy that you have been wanting for Christmas, here are the best prices we are likely to find this next month.
Note: all the items listed ship free with Amazon Prime! If you don’t have it, I highly suggest it. It’s a bit of a $$…but more than pays for itself if you use Amazon consistently over the next year. If you don’t use it , though, don’t buy it because it’s not worth it unless you use the free shipping often!
LeapFrog Leapster 2 Learning Game System – Green

Lots of Leapster Games on sale for up to 70% off! Titles I see are:

And then there is the amazing deal on this Tag bundle that is significant enough that I wonder if I should make it a post of it’s own. The lowest price I have ever seen on this highly sought after toy :
LeapFrog Tag Learn And Love To Read Set
$64.89 (regular price is $93.99 so it’s a savings of $29.10 or 31%)NOTE: This comes in green and pink. ONLY the green is discounted! – this includes an entire bundle of Tag toys . Item description quoted from the manufacturer :
“A unique touch-and-talk device brings stories to life in the Tag Learn and Love to Read Set with a library of books and games from LeapFrog. This bundled set includes 13 books, a carrying case, and one Tag reader that can hold audio for up to 10 books at once. Funny voice-overs and cool sound effects add to the fun, helping children aged 4 to 8 years boost their confidence and their reading level. “
Those are the best offers that I see currently, but I will update if I happen to hear of anything better. I would guess that there won’t be anything cheaper, however. I know the little people on your list would be quite happy with a Leapster.
disclosure: Because I know this sounds like a total ad, I have NOT been compensated by Leapster to write this post! It is purely my own idea and opinion!
